The Holiday Season is here, and so is the temptation to overindulge on fattening food. Keep from gaining weight this season by following these tips. With these easy to follow tips, you can enjoy delicious family meals and holiday goodies without increasing a pant size.
You can have your cake and eat it too – you just can’t eat the whole thing! One of the most important rules to remember this holiday season is saying “Yes” and “No” to foods in just the right BALANCE.
Studies on personal achievement have shown that people reach 80% of the goals they put on paper. Set reasonable goals and remember, just because you mess up once doesn’t mean you should quit. Revisit your goals and remember you can do this!
You know your schedule is going to get hectic over the holidays, so stay on track by planning your schedule in advance. Put it on a wall calendar or make “appointments” in a daily planner for ALL your workouts.
A planned “cheat day” helps you to stay on your program better in the long run. If you’re too strict all the time, you’re setting yourself up for cravings and bingeing. One or two cheat meals per week will have very little effect on your physique.
Keep your standards high, but don’t expect other people’s standards to be as high as yours. Don’t let their negative influence drag you down. When they offer you seconds on dessert, politely say, “No thank you, it was absolutely delicious, but I’m full, I can’t eat another bite.” ( By Kyle Washburn and Contributed by Leah Britt, Premier Fitness Camp’s certified personal trainer/nutritionist )
